why colorado?

this could have been taken care of earlier but an explanation is certainly due.  why campaign in colorado?  it was summed up prety well last week by david plouffe, the obama campaign manager, when he said: 'our best hope for success in red states is virginia and colorado.'  

must every presidential election be a battle for ohio and florida?  if we can make some movement in the electorate in other parts of the country, educating new voters and changing the minds of others is that not real change?  

if obama wins the same states as gore, plus a colorado or viriginia then he is president.
